The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete preparing for significant competition

The rising star has substantial online audience

Kai Trump will have numerous high-profile backers when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns numerous international courses and often matches against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."

"He essentially suggested to go out there and relax," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, so he's quite busy."

As an amateur, the golfer has played in just three tournaments this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.

But she can get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.

"He is the best player in the world," Kai expressed.

"And he's an even better individual. He advised me to play, relax, and go with the flow."

She'll challenge several most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Officials mentioned that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, especially with the next generation.

Kai maintains a massive following and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
